Personal comments:
The local language in Glasgow is quite different with English which I learned before I came to Scotland. Initially, I could not understand the local accent, through communicating with local people and studying in English institution, both my local language and English were improved. And in fact I like Glasgow English now.

It was quite difficult in the beginning of the year tocope with a foreign language and new topics.Indeed, I have been graduated in biomedical science (option nutrition)in belgium before starting a Master degree at the University of Surrey. Nevertheless, after 2 month I had no problem anymore with my English.

The overall communication experience during my year in the UK was quite fulfilling. I had the opportunity to further advance my vocabulary and learn the local codes of language as well.

the only way to improve a language is going to that country. There is where you "activate" your skills and you can speak fluently in about 3 weeks.
