Personal comments
It's very good, although a bit expensive. There are lots of apartment complexes with good facilities, e.g. swimming pools, laundry rooms, sports courts. Shuttle buses from/to compus run every 10 min. on normal schedule and they are pretty convenient.

The Library and Aquarium. Nice bars with cheap drinks (specially on Thursdays when all bottled beers are only $1.00)

Final comments
Texas is a nice place, where lots of beauties take place. You may want to visit some natural parks, such as Big Bend, and also beaches, e.g. South Padre Island. If you are over there in February, don't miss Mardi Gras in New Orleans or even in Austin. You won't regret it.

In Brazil, we have really bad exchange rate concerning dollar-real, therefore we (Brazilians) had to spend 3x more what we normally spend at home.
