If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? Contact with Canadiens as I shared the house with them! Be independent!
Personal comments:
There is the possibility to go on campus (Columbia Lake Village, 2 terms only) which cost much more! I was lucky with my house and the people, on the other hand, if you'd like to meet lots of exchange students, go on campus!

Why? More independent and cheap
Personal comments:
Although is very comfortable place to live and very near the University, everything is arranged and there are too many rules. Price was pretty expensive too. Anyway living on campus you have the chance to meet many people

Why? It is a great opportunity to meet all people and make a social circle from all over the world and canada.
Personal comments:
I had stayed in a residence called 'Columbia Lake Village' which is espeacilly for exchange student and upper-year canadian student for 8 months, and had lived off-campus for 4 months. The cost is a bit higher than market price, but the residence, CLV, offered a very nice garden, clean housing and great opportunity to make social connection. CLV runned its own programs such as Holloween party, BBQ party and niagara trip etc, so that people could actually have a chance to get to know each other.

Why? Being on campus helped me to meet a lot of peoples from different countries and to be all the time in contact with canadian.
Personal comments:
Even if the language was different, i really adapted fast to this new life, i was a member of the international student association ( i organized trips around Canada and United States), i was also the captain of an international indoor soccer team. My first semester was a real success and thaks to my grades, one professor allowed me to follow the next semester a master course about mathematicals models for finance

Why? I would choose differently, as then I would gain a new experience. The first place I stayed at was great, but if I stayed there again it would not be the same. Staying at a new place would be a new experience.
Personal comments:
The accomodation at the University was excellent, where I stayed they made the stay enjoyable and had many activities, also there is a great range of accomodation.

Why? Freedom, independance, was much cheaper, no specific to the campus rules, no major disadvantages.
Personal comments:
Was a bit expensive and pretty closed on campus, not a lot of opportunities to meet people from outside.

Why? The architecture of the building Im living in is pretty bad: There is no place to live, no "social place" to meet people. By choosing to live on campus, you have less opportunitiers to go out from university.
Personal comments:
For my experience, I must say that the suite Im living in is pretty small; it's pretty difficult to meet people: Im in this since 6 month, and I do not even know who are my neighbours!
