It is useful to arrive two or three weeks before the semester starts to ease accomodation search. Travelling during the semester is only possible during the Easter break.

Final comments
Perth is a good base for travelling and a really nice place to live and study. You should not miss out the South-West and the North-West.

Why?
On Campus accommodation is still more expensive. However, meals are included. Moreover on campus is nice for party but quite annoying if you are into serious studying.

The university housing office offers some support for people who are looking for off campus accommodation. It is important to start searching as early as possible. At the beginning of the semester most accomodations are already taken. Housing is relatively expensive.

The most clubs and bars are located in Northbridge. However, in my opinion, its not very good for going out. I prefer Subiaco where the crowd is a little bit older and the clubs and cafes have more style. Also popular are Leederville (Hippie Club on Tuesday) and Cottesloe (Sunday session in the Cot Hotel).
