Poland is a great country to stay in if you are low on budget. Though, because they entered the European Union in 2004, prices are increasing rapidly. If you therefore want to take advantage of the low prices, go there soon. Read Review

Personal comments:
Polish is part of the Slavic language group and therefore totally different from English or my mother tongue which made it quite difficult to learn. Still I found it interesting to dig a little deeper in such a language.

the price rate is much lower in Poland than in the Netherlands (rent was 150 euro instead of 300 euro in Holland)
Travel: was more expensive than at home.
Food, Nightlife, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
any time I cashed money from the bank, they charged a service fee of 1,50 euro. If you do this every week, the costs add up pretty quickly.
