Why? the university campus is quite far away fron toronto downtown and for me it was important to experience the city life as well apart from the people I got to know at university

Personal spending habits:
price levels vary within the categories, for example I made the experience that shopping in supermarkets is rather expensive while there are many fast food resaurants where you can eat very cheap, housing is defenitly more expensive although I also have to say that I lived downtown, which of course was rather expensive
Food, Overall, Housing: was more expensive than at home.
Travel, Nightlife: was the same price as at home.
Telephone: was less expensive than at home.

with an account at Deutsche Bank you can withdraw money from cash dispensers of a certain canadian bank (scotia bank) without any additional fees
