HOUSING
by Gonzalo, Universidad de Cantabria, Santander, Spain
Computer Science/IT, Erasmus
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Room in a studenthouse
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: In another studenthouse
Why? I would go to a different studenthouse, with bigger rooms and more facilities.
Personal comments:
The exchange office there works pretty well, they gave me much more help than on my origin university. The main problem is that there is no campus, and therefore most of the accomodation places are far from the university. There are some very nice appartments but it is difficult to find a place if you are not going to stay a whole year. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: French
Was learning French a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my French How much did you improve your French?
My level before: At ease in most situations My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang) Personal comments:
I spoke mostly French at home and with teachers and assistants. Since most social activities I attended were organized specifically for exchange students, I spoke a lot of English in these situations. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

OVERALL
by Morten, Danmarks Tekniske Universitet, Lyngby, Denmark
Materials Science, Erasmus
Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
That the student residences demanded on site action to obtain a room. In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
Great up-to-date campus, skilled teachers, scenic setting at Lake Geneva, just North of the French Alps. Switzerland is a beautiful country, especially around Lausanne and Lake Geneva. FINAL COMMENTS
PLAN WELL AHEAD! Prepare yourself by reading books on Switzerland and the Swiss people. I recommend "Living and Working in Switzerland", Survival Books. Travel in- and outside the country during your stay. Lausanne is 4 hours of train from Milano and Paris, and 6-8 hours from the French riviera!
