Work opportunities:

Personal spending habits:
Housing in Germany seemed to be generally more expensive and it being my first time in Europe I wanted to travel more. I spent less on food because there is a wider variety which enabled me to save more.
Travel, Overall, Housing: was more expensive than at home.
Nightlife, Telephone: was the same price as at home.
Food: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
Some food groups were surprisingly affordable, that is where most of my cost savings came from. Tip: it is better to buy supermarket brand food and to travel in groups to save on gas or get group discounts on tickets.

Personal spending habits:
Housing was bloody expensive... Food in the "mensa" (university restaurant) is quite unaffordable, and concerning travel, gas is more expensive than in France. Globally, the living standard in Germany is higher than in France.
Food, Travel, Overall, Housing: was more expensive than at home.
Nightlife, Telephone: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
Financially, search carefully your accomodation with regard to the price. Cost-saving : buying a good Steakbrot supplies your evening food for 4-5 days, a Bratwurst is cheap and keeps you fit! If you live really near to school, use a bicycle, even if it's very cold.
