Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: With a family
Why? I can adapt new environment and study the local language as soon as possible if I have chance to live with local family.
Personal comments:
The hardware condiction of the accommdation is not bad, but some neighbours are difficult to get alone with them. In additional, the school give me less help in the process of finding a room. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Good, although some of my friends had to wait for few weeks before they were able to get a room which is sad for them. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Type of housing: A room with other internationals "container"
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? I like to have everything in order and clean. However I´m use to all kinds of accomodations, sharing rooms or bymyself.
Personal comments:
It was a special place for the international students, use to call them "containers". The place was terrible, but my room was pretty good. The other 18 students and me shared the living room, kitchen, showers and toilets. We were in charge of the cleaness of the place and sometimes this make it kind of difficult. The noise was quite a lot but with communication everything work out pretty good. It was the best experience in my life. The university was 5 min by bike and that make the place really expensive, one thing for another. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Type of housing: dormitory
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why? Lot of friend s and people around and usually close to the university.
Personal comments:
The house we lived as in very bad shape, the maintenance of building was neglected for a several years. There was a cleaner who visited at our place every week, but anything was clean after persons visit. We did not have proper cleaning equipment so we could not clean our rooms. In general there was a lots of fun living in there, we shared our rooms with other exchange students. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why? Because I could have more oportunities to meet other cultures.
Personal comments:
Groningen is a dificult place to find accommodation. There are not enough rooms and apartments for all the students. From my point of view, they should arrange better the exchange programmes within the rest of the European universities, and do not invite so many students to study in Groningen if they can not afford a room for them to live in Groningen. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Type of housing: International Student House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: International Student House
Why? It's the best way to know people and other students.
Personal comments:
The only problem I have found is that there is not much communication between Dutch people and foreign students. It's a pity. My resident is very big, it's better a smaller International Student House. At the begining, I though that I would be more keepping in touch with native people but it hasn't been like this. If returning, I would choose: International Student House
Why? You meet a lot of new people immediatelly after you arrive at the International Student House. Really warm atmosphere.
Personal comments:
There is an International Housing Office in Groningen, which provides accomodation for foreign students. If you get lucky you get a good room from an International student house. Rents are not cheap in Holland. It's better to live less than 5km from downtown and your faculty. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
