Pretty good.
Could've been better, but didn't lessen the overall experience.
Disappointing.

Cleanliness

Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? I was really satisfied with the apartment me and my friend shared
Personal comments:
It's a bit a pity that in Szeged there's no room for exchange students in the dormitory, because it would've been nice to live there and get to know the other exchange students well and more Hungarian students

Describe host city: Students equally interact with the local and student community
Nightlife: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment
Activities, Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment
Personal comments:
Jate Klub is the place to go, that's the place whre you can meet your fellow students outside the school, besides it's a really good nightclub and bar! We went to Jate basically every week, and did not go to many other bars, but who needs them!

Overall
Language of instruction: English
Local language was: Different than language of instruction.
Was learning English a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't.
Was learning the local language a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my knowledge
How much did you improve your English?
My level before: At ease in most situations
My level after: At ease in most situations
How much did you improve your local language?
My level before: Did not speak it
My level after: Everyday knowledge (shopping, directions, etc.)
Personal comments:
Well, in Szeged you MUST learn some Hungarian in order to cope in the everyday situations. The students at the university speak good English, but when you go shopping, eating out, to library/post office etc., they don't speak English. But I thik it's also a good thing, because you really learn to use Hungarian!

EXPENSES
The accessibility of student needs

KEY:
Very easy.
Minimal effort.
Accessible but required effort.
Almost impossible.
Second-hand household items
Computers / Internet
Administrative
Money from home
Main source of funding:
Government assistance
Other sources of funding:
Family
An ERASMUS grant
Work opportunities:
I didn't want/need to work
Personal spending habits:
The price level is so much lover!!! The apartment was of a lot higher quality than the on I have in Finland, and the rent was still cheaper. I went out a lot more and travelled more than I do back home, but the costs are so much cheaper than in Finland, that I spend far less money!
Telephone: was more expensive than at home.
Food, Travel, Nightlife, Overall, Housing: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
I could live with the Finnish government student allowance!!! Including going to party every week, eating out, traveling and shopping!!! Cost-saving tips? If you go to visit Budapest, don't go eating to restaurants in tourist areas. In Szeged, ask advise from the Hungarian students about shops and restaurants. Turn the gas heater off when you are not at home, the gas bill might be quite big if you use the heating carelessly.

I wish I had known...
Some Hungarian language! And loads of small everyday things, that are different in Hungary than in Finland. But I think you don't necessarily have to know everything beforehand, it's also good to learn it yourself.
In my opinion:
Most people loved it.

During my experience abroad, I ...
Became familiar with another culture

Happened quite a lot.

Didn't happen.
Traveled
Improved language skills

Personal recommendation:
At least I loved it and would really recommend it to others! The people are so nice and the studies are ok.
