Universidad de Cantabria (UC)
Universidad de Cantabria, Avda. Los Castros, s/n, 39005 Santander, Spain
Description:
The University of Cantabria is a young public university, created by a Decree passed on the 18th of August, 1972. Until then, university education in Santander was limited to the courses offered by The School of Civil Engineering, established in 1966, and the specialism in Physics in the Faculty of Science, which had been created in 1969. Both the School and the Faculty were dependent on The University of Valladolid. The establishment of Santander as an independent University dates from 1971. Two years later, The Faculty of Medicine was set up, the new Faculty of Science building was inaugurated and The University Colleges of Industrial Engineering, Business Studies, the College of Mining Engineering in Torrelavega and The Teacher Training School were incorporated.

Personal recommendation:
Go there! Cool city. Friendly students. Good teachers. Relaxed life. A beach, surfing possibilities, mountains with snow. Fun nightlife. FINAL COMMENTS
Try to make friends with students from other countries. Don't hang with students from your home country. Find Spanish and Latinamericans friends to really learn Spanish. Have fun! Go out at night. Especially in the beginning. That's when you get to know most people. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Santander is fantastic because of the ocean, you'll love it. But University life is quite hard, forget to receive any special treatment from teachers. You're not different from local students, if you have some problem they just don't care. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

More information about other countries as I have found out that before I was quite ignorant of what was happening in the world whereas now I am learning more about the political situations in other countries and their histories. In my opinion:
Most people loved it.

Personal recommendation:
Improve the library FINAL COMMENTS
Santander has really cheap flights as Ryan air flies to London, Rome and Frankfurt. Also it´s only 1.5hours from Bilbao which also has a great airport. There is no dialect spoken here so to learn castellano it is one of the best parts in Spain. It is right on the coast so if you like seafood you will love Santander. Has a beautiful beach too... Little details, like they don´t expect you to possibly select a class schedule where nothing overlaps. If I would have known that I would have taken more of the classes I wanted first semester and not worried so much about it. In my opinion:
Most people loved it.

Personal recommendation:
Take advantage of the Spanish courses they offer. FINAL COMMENTS

Everybody loved it, you will too!

Personal recommendation:
Management is an ok course to study and it is easy to pass, university life doesn't really exist and the students aren't very sociable. FINAL COMMENTS
If I was to do it all again I would perhaps go somewhere further south as the people in the north are quite cold and it was difficult gettin to know spanish people. Get to know as many people as you can and don't fall into the trap of speaking your native language. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

I wish I had know how easy it was to make friends. I would have stuck my neck out there a lot more, especially at youth hostels, because everyone there is more or less like-minded in that they are travelers looking for good company. In my opinion:

Go there! It'll change anyone's life. The Spaniards are great people, and the city of Santander has so much to offer. FINAL COMMENTS
