Università di Bologna
University of Bologna, Via Zamboni 33, 40126 Bologna, Italy
Description:
The University of Bologna is about to celebrate its Ninth Centenary. The Studium at Bologna is thus the oldest in the western world. The whole history of European universities has been profoundly influenced throughout the centuries by the University of Bologna. Evidence of this may be seen in the fact that many of the most important universities in Europe were established as a result of internal strife within the University of Bologna, or under the auspices of scholars from this University.

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: Italian
Was learning Italian a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't. How much did you improve your Italian?
My level before: At ease in most situations My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang) Personal comments:
The experience was really fine, at the beginning it was not that easy to understand the italian accent and to speak fluently but at the end I seemed another local at Bologne. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
accomdation costs In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
orgnaization is pretty well done; courses are crowded, so better be there in advance; exams can last up to three days if many students register for the same date; oldest european university with corresponding atmosphere and prestige; very good learning environment and many recreations and socializing opportunities; very satisfies with all aspects of student and academic life FINAL COMMENTS
accomodation is very expensive; often low quality of rooms; old constructions with many flaws; great experience, very satidfied with all aspects except accomodation; accomodation offices do help though; central geographic position of Bologna, hence many travel opportunities.
