Università di Bologna
University of Bologna, Via Zamboni 33, 40126 Bologna, Italy
Description:
The University of Bologna is about to celebrate its Ninth Centenary. The Studium at Bologna is thus the oldest in the western world. The whole history of European universities has been profoundly influenced throughout the centuries by the University of Bologna. Evidence of this may be seen in the fact that many of the most important universities in Europe were established as a result of internal strife within the University of Bologna, or under the auspices of scholars from this University.

Personal assessment
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Home university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why? It is easier to met people and funnier as well.
Personal comments:
There are many students looking for accomodation and you should not trust university too much. It is usually a mess!! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE
by Aapo, University of Tampere, Tampere, Finland
European Studies, Erasmus
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Students equally interact with the local and student community
Activities: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment Nightlife, Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
My campus was located in a small and somewhat dull city called Forlí, where the best 'club' was a sort of cultural centre named Arci; cheap drinks, easy-going people and good rock. As for Bologna itself, I can recommend Contavalli, where I knew the owner. Ask for a drink called 'Pompa idraulico'. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

EXPENSES

The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
Family Other sources of funding:
Family An ERASMUS grant Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options Personal spending habits:
Housing is about 50% more expensive in Italy than in Greece, food also (even though i was eating more--maybe because of the cultural shock or the extreme cold). Nightlife in Italy is normal for european standards. It is just Greece that has the most expensive one. Travelling inside Italy was a piece of cake. Cheap trains and buses unlike Greece :( Food, Overall, Housing: was more expensive than at home. Telephone: was the same price as at home. Travel, Nightlife: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
I am not the "saving" kind of girl, so if there are any tips you could tell me, please do! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
