HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose:
Why? I liked my location a lot and I was happy to have found it by myself. If I were to go back, I would search for a location in the same way as I did when I went to Rome.
Personal comments:
I can't give my advice as I didn't find a location through the university. There is no Campus where you can rent some rooms at the university where I went to.The university is just helping you to find some advertisements. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Students equally interact with the local and student community
Activities: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment Nightlife, Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
There are a lot of nice pubs near to the Piazza Navona and the Campo dei Fiori, as well as in Trastevere. There are so many nice things to do and to see in the "cittą eterna" that I can only advice to go and see it by yourselves. My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
You should get informed about the courses you choose abroad. They are sometimes totally different from the courses at your home university.I also would recommand to have a litle talk with the teachers from the host university. They can give yous some tips for their course to be sure you pass their exams at he end of the year.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
Not really. You just have to get used to the way things work there(changing schedules, teachers arriving too late,...).Academic life is totally different from what you are used too at your home university. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: Italian
Was learning Italian a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my Italian How much did you improve your Italian?
My level before: Everyday knowledge (shopping, directions, etc.) My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang) Personal comments:
In the beginning it was not easy at all.But you learn very quickly as people in Italy often don't speak another language than their own. It's the perfect way to learn a language.People are so nice there that you d'ont fear to make mistakes and that you automatically speak Italian to ask something. EXPENSES
The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
Personal savings Other sources of funding:
An ERASMUS grant Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options Personal spending habits:
Life is expensive in Rome, especially when it comes to accomodation. There are a lot of expenses you make without having thought of it before leaving your home country. Food, Travel, Nightlife, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was more expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
I would recommand to work during the holidays before leaving because you're running quickly out of money once you live there (phone,food,rent,furnitures,...) I would also advice to get informed how you can get a grant for your experience abroad. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

OVERALL
Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
I would have liked to know the exact content of the courses at my host university. In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
It's a very big university with a lot of faculties spread in the whole city. The local students are very nice and willing to help when you don't understand some parts of the courses. There is also an Erasmus Association within the university which organizes lots of activities. My study experience at La Sapienza was very good and I don' t regret at all haven chosen this university. FINAL COMMENTS
Try to get the most out of this experience. It's a good way to get independent and to realize some things by yourself. Its' not always easy in the beginning as you feel quite alone but the experience is really worth it. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
