Università di Bologna
University of Bologna, Via Zamboni 33, 40126 Bologna, Italy
Description:
The University of Bologna is about to celebrate its Ninth Centenary. The Studium at Bologna is thus the oldest in the western world. The whole history of European universities has been profoundly influenced throughout the centuries by the University of Bologna. Evidence of this may be seen in the fact that many of the most important universities in Europe were established as a result of internal strife within the University of Bologna, or under the auspices of scholars from this University.

HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? Because this way you will live with other students and get adapted first
Personal comments:
My house was far away from the center of the city but it was great because it was a whole building with students and you can meet lots of students (erasmus or not) like you fastly. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Student life dominates the city
Activities, Nightlife, Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
As Spain is the very best place to go out at night Bologna was a little bit disappointing for me but there were lots of spanish guys there and we all have made the bolognese night more interesting. Piazza Sto Stefano is the point where spanish guys meet to make botellon, as the heat arrives, more and more people do it with us. ACADEMIC
My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
I have not gone to class in the whole year, of course it could be better to meet italian students but if you really want to live your erasmus life will be better for you to go out at night and sleep in the morning...

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: Italian
Was learning Italian a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my Italian How much did you improve your Italian?
My level before: Basic phrases My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang) Personal comments:
For us spanish it is easy to understand italian language, even if we don't know anything when we arrive. Speaking it could be a little bit more difficult and it is true that lots of spanish guys are back in our country and they dont speak correctly italian, but if you want and make a small effort, you will be able!
