KEY:
Couldn't have asked for more.
Pretty good.
Could've been better, but didn't lessen the overall experience.
Disappointing.

Type of housing:
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: With a family
Why? If I could live with the same family, because I think I really found myself a second family..
Personal comments:
Not very well arranged for the others. I can't complain about my experience.

Overall
Describe host city: Students interact with the local community without much university involvement
Activities, Nightlife, Travel: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment
Personal comments:
Well.. the small town of Cherbourg was a bit amazed when the foreign girls came and wrecked the place.. but the best bar is absolutely Bayou!!!

ACADEMIC
My academic experiences
Quality of courses
KEY:
Fantastic.
Pretty good.
Could've been a bit better.
Disappointing.
Variety of courses
Availability/access to resources
Interaction with teachers
Interaction with other international students
Interaction with local students
Course recommendations:
I wish we would have been encouraged more towards individual thinking and using brain. Also almost all the lectures and tutorials were just a big dictate, and I didn't like that.

My opinion of the university assessment

KEY:
Liked it.
It was alright.
A bit annoying.
Didn't like it.
Exams throughout the course
Essays and/or projects at the end of course.
Essays and/or projects throughout the course
Overall
Personal comments:
I wish the lectures and tutorials would be more interesting, and "colourful".

Language of instruction: French
Was learning French a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my French
How much did you improve your French?
My level before: Everyday knowledge (shopping, directions, etc.)
My level after: At ease in most situations
Personal comments:
I was talking to a friend the other day here, and he asked me my opinion, how well have I improved my language skills. I remembered the first day in France, I went to buy a ticket for the metro, I was SOOO nervous, I thought I just couldn't get a word out of my mouth. And now a few months after, I was there, talking away to this french fella about life and about everything, not having to think beforehand the words that I want to say and how. So I am personally very happy about the progress that I have made.
