Could've been better, but didn't lessen the overall experience.

Why? Beacuase if you share a flat it is not much more expensive and you are independent, more confortable and free from residendence constraints

they are pretty cheap and they are not so bad, I'm talking about students' residencies

French government give good help for housing, but bars and alcohol is expensive I spent much on travels because there were a lot of good destinies around
Travel, Nightlife: was more expensive than at home.
