To be honest, I spent more in Kassel because the Nightlife there has much more to offer. I'm a man of discerning and obscure tastes.

On weekends Deutsche Bahn offers something called a "Schoenes Wochenende Ticket", a relatively inexpensive train ticket that up to 4 people can split anywhere in Germany for the whole day. Ergo fantastic for day trips for groups of students/tourists.
