University of Ottawa Overall Review
Corinne I
Canada, Undergraduate
Business Studies, 2020
Overall
The University of Ottawa is a very good school. We have one of the best business school in the country and it's very diverse. There's about 42,000 students from all over the world (local and international students). The school offers a career center that helps you find a job, write your resume, cover letters, etc. There is also a lot of club from different faculty you can join. There's a lot of activities throughout the school year such as the Panda Game (american football). The workload in most Canadian schools are quite heavy. A full course load at my University is 5 classes (15 credits) or 4 classes (12 credits). You can have midterms, final exams, assignments, papers, case studies in your classes. We have good prof and also bad ones, you just need to look them up on rate my professor to see the reviews.

A Dual Program Graduate Through Egypt's Canadian International College
Osama M
Egypt, Undergraduate
Public Relations / Publicity / Advertising, 2020
Overall
The University of Ottawa is one of Canada's top educational institutions. However, the experience I had studying at the Canadian International College through the dual program has been different.

The dual program allows students to graduate with certificates from both the Egyptian university, as well as its Canadian partner. While the certificate from Ottawa is something I'm very proud of, the journey to it has been a huge disappointment.

I was a Public Relations and Advertising student, the courses we had were extremely outdated, with nothing applicable to the real world and the modern job market. The professors were trying their best, but the curriculum and educational system didn't help. In a field where creativity and modernity thrive, our education was mostly based on memorizing and writing down everything we memorized in the exam paper.

The reasoning behind my 5 star rating for the University of Ottawa, is that the partnership between both universities has now ended, and I believe that was the correct decision. I dreamed of studying at the uOttawa campus through the exchange programs, but my family and I could not afford the expenses of studying for a semester or a whole year in Canada. My friends who have been fortunate enough to go through that experience learnt a lot and definitely felt a huge difference between the education in uOttawa and the education in CIC.

ABOUT
The University of Ottawa is Canada's largest bilingual university and one of its leading comprehensive, research-intensive institutions. Academic excellence historically has been the hallmark of this very distinct institution. With 10 faculties, including Ontario's second-largest graduate studies and co-operative education programs, the University is well positioned to offer a wide variety of programs in most disciplines to nearly 25,000 students.
