Personal spending habits
Room on campus came with phone (free local calls) and Canadians don't use mobile phones very much which saves call costs. The 15% tax on top of everything is kind of annoying though.

Everybody loved it, you will too!
Important factors in my choice
(1) Unimportant – (4) Very important
Personal recommendation
It's a small campus but still loads of things to do. Very similar in teaching method to Australia. Diverse student body and Canadians are very open and welcoming.

Final comments
Go. It will be one of the most memorable times of your university studies. You will meet great people, make loads of friends and never want to leave!! And the snow and winter time in Canada is an experience you don't want to miss (coming from someone who hates the cold!).

Languages
Language of instruction: English
Was learning English a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't.
Language difficulties
Administrative / Institutional
Personal comments
The uni is bilingual which mean everything is in French and English. Great for ppl wanting to learn some French. But no one language dominates the other so you can get by fine with either or both!
