Why? i was working as an aupair as I had not get a grant for that year of studies and I could not afford to pay for a room in Sweden!

It was thanks to my supervisor who helped me to find a family, but it was not through the student union.

Personal comments:
Student Pub in the university is a good place to have fun. Besides, there are pubs and discos in the city center. But if you are coming from a bigger city than Halmstad, you might be disappointed. However, even though Halmstad is not a big city, there are considerable amount of activities to choose.

When I arrived in Halmstad University, I did not know whether I would learn Swedish or not, I chose to do so and I haven't been disappointed, on the contrary ! I liked it so much that I continued when back to France : I applied for Swedish lessons in the Swedish Culture centre in Paris!

Food is more expensive than in Austria and you have to buy some basic stuff which you normally have already at home; alcohol and going out is for sure more expensive than in Austria
Food, Nightlife, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was more expensive than at home.

A swedish phone number helps saving costs or calling through Skype.

I wish I had known...
I wish I knew about the economy of the country. It is really very hard to find employment after graduation,since Sweden is not a large economy and suffers from financial depression.

Personal recommendation:
This is one of the best University for particular courses and offers a variety of academic and non-academic activity. It is the most modern universities also young in Sweden with an enormous growth potential.



FINAL COMMENTS

It is good to find the days or seasons where discounts are available.Since normal travel costs are insanely high. Also if frequent travel is sought then travelling cards are much cost effective.It is always good to plan the costs before undertaking an venture.
