HOUSING

Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? I like company, but also to have my own space. I think that this kind of accomodation allows both of these things.
Personal comments:
Even if I could expres some complains, at the end the accomodation that Glasgow University provided to me was exaclyt what I needed. Close to the university, not far from the city centre and above all close to all my friends. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Personal social experience
Describe host city: Student life dominates the city
Activities: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment Nightlife, Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
During the time i've been in Glasgow I spent two nights a week out with friends; our preferred bars were in the middle of Glasgow (Buchanan St. mainly) and it was great experience. After few time we decided to enterprise also travels instead of going for bars, perhaps that's my natural way of being This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: English
Was learning English a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't. How much did you improve your English?
My level before: At ease in most situations My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang) Personal comments:
Three months in UK are the difference between Apu from the Simpsons and a someone able not only to make himself understood, but even more to talk about anything with the same confidece he has in is home language. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
Personal savings Other sources of funding:
Scholarship Work opportunities:
I didn't want/need to work Personal spending habits:
The strength of the GBP made my experience quite expensive in my home currency. Food, Travel, Nightlife, Overall, Housing: was more expensive than at home. Telephone: was the same price as at home.
Personal comments:
Probably the best tip would be to take advantage of the many student discounts that are available. Look out for coupons and such which are distributed on campus during orientation week. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
