Danone's Research & Innovation (R&I) center, located in Gif-sur-Yvette on the Saclay plateau, is a global center of excellence dedicated to food innovation. This state-of-the-art center is at the heart of one of the largest international scientific clusters. The Medical & Nutritional Science (M&NS) department is hiring an Impact program Principal Scientist in the Nutrition & Scientific Affairs team, reporting to the Nutrition Director. The position is based in Gif-sur-Yvette on the Saclay plateau at the Danone Global Research & Innovation Center Daniel Carasso, which is at the heart of Danone's Research & Innovation. The center comprises state-of-the-art laboratories and pilot workshops, with employees working collectively to innovate on dairy and plant products, waters, and specialized nutrition for the future.
The M&NS department aims to create value and growth opportunities for Danone around Nutrition and/or Health. The department includes teams based in the Netherlands (Utrecht), France (Gif-sur-Yvette), and Singapore.
ROLE PURPOSE
The maternity cover will have 2 main missions:
Supporting continuity and momentum for Danone's global health impact agenda, with a particular focus on Iron Impact, the DIJ 2030 Iron KPI, external recognition, strategic partnerships and the exploration of future health impact platforms under the management of the Global Health Impact Lead.
Supporting nutrition roadmap and deliverables such as scientific positions on nutrients or ingredients as well as nutrition governance, scientific projects with a close collaboration with other medical and nutrition science teams such as scientific affairs, health & nutrition local managers, category teams, user experience, and other teams.
Sitting within the Global Nutrition & Scientific Affairs team, the role will support the connection between nutrition science, public health priorities, health affairs, stakeholder engagement and business relevance. The person will help progress existing workstreams, support execution of priority deliverables, and ensure that Danone's contribution to health through food continues to be translated into credible proof points, partnerships, scientific projects and positions, and scalable impact models.
CORE MISSION
To support Danone's health impact agenda by ensuring follow-up of the DIJ 2030 Iron KPI, progressing Iron Impact recognition and partnerships, and supporting the exploration of future health impact opportunities, as well as to support the nutrition roadmap and deliverables, scientific positions and projects.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
1. Support the coordination of the DIJ 2030 Iron KPI delivery framework
Ensure continuity of the DIJ 2030 Iron KPI as a flagship health impact commitment.
* Steer the KPI long-term roadmap (2027-2030), manage related risks, opportunities, and internal stakeholder engagement
* Support annual target delivery via local market engagement and tracking, forecasts, and global governance animation.
* Ensure methodology consistency, data quality, and audit readiness.
* Coordinate internal and external reporting and support the iron audit process & outcomes.
2. Progress recognition of DIJ Health and external engagement
Continue building Danone's external visibility and credibility as a contributor to health through food.
* Support the development of Danone's external engagement approach for the DIJ Health agenda, helping build visibility, credibility and recognition of Danone's role in health through food.
* Support activation of the Iron Impact Report following launch and manage existing IronUp external assets.
* Support exploration of partnership opportunities linked to DIJ Health, including the iron agenda where relevant.
3. Support Health & Nutrition priorities
Provide support to the team on the global health & nutrition roadmap

* Cross-functional coordination of nutrition projects/topics related to ingredients, nutrient or product nutrition quality
* Management of scientific alignments (nutrition positions or points of view)
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Experience and background
The ideal candidate will have experience in health and nutrition, corporate affairs, scientific affairs, ideally in a global food, health, consumer goods, or international organization context.
They should be comfortable working at the intersection of health, science, strategy, stakeholder engagement, and operational delivery.

* Knowledge on nutrition, public health, physiology, and health impact,
* Capability in translating science into business priorities and business-oriented documents
* Capability in managing complex programs across both short- and long-term horizons to ensure target delivery.
