Technologist 1 - Cell Banking

Join Lonza's Cell Banking team and play a vital role in supporting the manufacture of life-changing therapies around the world. As a Technologist 1, you will use mammalian cell culture techniques within a GMP-regulated cleanroom environment to create and maintain cell banks that serve as the starting material for clinical and commercial biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
This is a fully site-based role. Working together in person supports close, real-time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards.What you will get

* Perform mammalian cell culture activities using aseptic techniques to create and maintain GMP-compliant cell banks.
* Generate inoculum cultures through cell revival, subculture and pooling activities in a cleanroom environment.
* Complete batch records, logbooks and other GMP documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
* Prepare stock solutions and culture media, including aseptic filtration processes.
* Manage frozen cell bank inventories stored in liquid nitrogen systems.
* Support laboratory and facility operations by maintaining equipment, consumables and coordinating activities with cross-functional teams.
* Contribute to development reports, bank release activities, shipment coordination and other operational projects as required.What we are looking for
* A BSc degree in Cell Biology, Biotechnology or a related scientific discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
* Practical experience in mammalian cell culture and aseptic laboratory techniques.
* Understanding of GMP principles and working within regulated environments.
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate documentation and records.
* Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
* A collaborative mindset with the ability to work closely with stakeholders across Manufacturing, Quality, Technical Services and other support functions.
* Flexibility to support weekend working on a rotating basis (approximately one weekend in five).About Lonza
