Your Next Challenge
For our Brossard manufacturing facility, we are seeking an Electrical Designer to join our Engineering team.
Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Supervisor, you will participate in the design of electrical power distribution systems used to measure, control, and protect critical equipment. You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, assembly, and testing teams to deliver solutions that meet customer requirements.
This position is ideal for someone passionate about electrical design, who enjoys solving technical problems and thrives in a dynamic environment where every project brings new challenges.
We welcome applications from both experienced designers and recent Electrical Engineering graduates looking to develop their careers in electrical design.
Key Responsibilities
* Participate in technical project reviews and contribute to ensuring compliance with established requirements.
* Design and update detailed electrical drawings, including single-line diagrams, control schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings.
* Support detailed engineering activities according to customer requirements, specifications, applicable standards (CSA, UL, ANSI), and internal guidelines.
* Prepare required technical documentation, including material lists, component lists, and bills of materials (BOMs).
* Participate in the selection of electrical components required for equipment manufacturing.
* Contribute to project progress while maintaining established schedules and deadlines.
* Collaborate with manufacturing and testing teams to resolve technical issues and ensure design consistency.
* Continuously develop technical expertise through mentorship from experienced colleagues and exposure to a variety of projects.
Required Qualifications
* College diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Electronics Technology, or a related field, or a completed Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
* Experience in electrical design gained through employment, internships, co-op programs, or relevant academic projects.
* Good understanding of electrical power distribution, industrial control systems, or power system protection principles.
* Interest in detailed electrical equipment design and technical solution development.
* Experience with electrical Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software; knowledge of SEE Electrical Expert is considered an asset.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach.
* Bilingualism in French and English to collaborate with teams and partners across Canada and internationally.
Assets
* Knowledge of control panels, switchboards, distribution equipment, or power systems.
* Familiarity with applicable standards and codes (CSA, ANSI, IEEE, Hydro-Québec, etc.).
* Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or eligible for membership.
