Description du poste:

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of the world's largest and most advanced cloud network. The Network Lifecycle Management (NLM) organization builds the software that underpins the entire lifecycle of this network - from initial capacity planning and hardware deployment, to decommissioning and replacement.
We tackle engineering challenges at a scale few organizations ever encounter: Automating the deployment of thousands of network devices across 30+ geographic regions, orchestrating real-time configuration changes without customer impact, and building intelligent systems that predict and respond to demand before it materializes.
Our work is critical - when we get it right, hundreds of millions of active customers and millions of developers around the world experience the seamless, reliable connectivity they expect from AWS.

We are looking for an experienced Software Development Manager to lead a team of engineers within AWS Network Lifecycle Management. You will own the end-to-end delivery of software systems that automate the management and reservation of network resources across all AWS networks. These services are vital to the efficient planning and delivery of new network capacity, supporting the unprecedented growth in demand from both traditional and AI/ML workloads.
You will lead a team of highly motivated software developers who thrive on solving complex problems with innovative solutions. You'll collaborate across AWS to deliver the highest standards for reliability and efficiency while scaling to meet customer demand at the lowest possible cost. And you'll be part of an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.
If you thrive in ambiguity, are motivated by massive scale, and want to build software that keeps the backbone of the cloud running - this is your team.

Key job responsibilities
Team Leadership & People Management
* Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software development engineers across multiple experience levels.
* Foster a culture of ownership, customer obsession, and engineering excellence aligned with Amazon's Leadership Principles.
* Recruit top-tier talent; build a diverse and inclusive team that reflects the global nature of our customer base.

Software Delivery & Technical Execution
* Own the delivery of large-scale, high-availability software systems that manage network resource inventories, handle reservations and interface with relevant device lifecycle operations
* Drive technical design reviews and ensure architectural decisions balance long-term maintainability with short-term delivery velocity.
* Set and track meaningful engineering metrics; use data to continuously improve team velocity and quality.

Operational Excellence
* Maintain a relentless focus on system reliability; own operational dashboards, alarms, on-call rotations, and runbooks.
* Drive root-cause analysis (COE) for operational events and implement systemic improvements to prevent recurrence.
* Champion automation to eliminate toil and reduce manual intervention across the network lifecycle.

Strategic Planning & Roadmap
* Define the 1-3 year technical roadmap for your area in partnership with principal engineers and senior leadership.
* Translate business and infrastructure requirements into well-prioritized engineering backlogs.
* Identify opportunities to innovate - leverage machine learning, advanced analytics, and modern cloud-native architectures to improve network lifecycle automation.

Cross-functional Collaboration
* Partner closely with stakeholder teams including Network Engineering, Supply Chain and Operations teams to deliver integrated solutions.
* Communicate effectively with senior leadership and stakeholders; provide clear status updates, risk assessments, and proposals.
* Influence technical direction across organizational boundaries through written documents (PRFAQs, design documents, narratives).
