The Colas Group operates internationally in all aspects of transport infrastructure. As part of the global organisation, Colas Ireland is primarily involved the distribution of bitumen products, emulsion and emulsifier manufacturing, and the provision of specialist road maintenance services on the national, regional and local road network. In Ireland Colas operates from 14 locations across the island of Ireland.

Purpose of the Role

We are looking for a creative and motivated Marketing Intern to support our digital marketing efforts, focusing on social media management, content creation, and video editing. This role is ideal for someone passionate about digital trends and storytelling, providing hands-on experience in building brand awareness and engaging audiences across multiple platforms.h as TikTok and Instagram Reels would be an advantage.

Main Responsibilities

In this position, you will assist with planning, creating, and scheduling content across LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, while monitoring channels and engaging with followers. You will research trends, support social media campaigns, track performance metrics, and help maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity. Additionally, you will capture and edit video content-such as reels, stories, and promotional clips-adding graphics, subtitles, and branding elements, while managing digital assets and optimising videos for different platforms.
You will also assist in the planning, promotion, and coordination of seminars, workshops, webinars, and other events, attending where necessary to capture multimedia content and produce post-event materials. Beyond this, the role involves contributing to newsletters, internal communications, website updates, customer marketing, communications meetings, and KPI reporting.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is currently studying or recently qualified in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field, with a strong interest in social media and video editing using Final Cut Pro. Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and analytical abilities are essential. You should be able to work collaboratively within a team and manage tasks independently with a proactive attitude.
We value personal integrity, reliable time management, and organisational skills. Creativity and a willingness to support innovative initiatives are important, as is confidence in sharing insights clearly and effectively with various stakeholders. Experience with social media analytics, basic photography and graphic design, and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and content creation for platforms such as TikTok and Instagram Reels would be an advantage.
