There are not many courses purely for foreign students, which I suppose is to be expected, but also if you are expected to do a piece of written work, they tend to be long, with little or no provision made for the fact that you are a foreigner. Apart from that, all courses I have attended have been well taught, and enjoyable.

Although there is your independence and lack of deadlines- don't make the mistake of putting things off till the last minute_ The papers are a bear and do require more time than average American student standards!

Get used to German professor never being on campus.
Just a general advice: a title of a course may sound very interesting, but the teacher is very bad, and may occure the opposite. So at first you have to try so many courses you find good for you and chose the best teachers.
