Academic
Course recommendations
it's your choice whether you're taking easy or harder courses. Professors are pretty good at teaching.
You have to speak French to integrate into the French student community.

Don't spend your weekends on campus. Travel around! France is a very nice country.
If you want to know Paris better, you might want to rent a room in the capital. Going to & away from campus is a hassle if you don't have a car. I often hitchhicked from campus to Paris. But going back takes about 45min-1h with public transports if you know the train schedules!!!
But campus life is great. You get to meet a lot of people!

The French government gives you an allocation which in the end covers about a third of accomodation costs. What a nice surprise that was!

As I've said before, speaking good French is necessary if you want to integrate with local students. Otherwise it won't be fun meeting them and you'll end up hanging out with exchange students (which can also be quite fun!)

Type of housing: With a family
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?

Apart from the great "soirées" at HEC. I would also recommend going into Paris to check out some great clubs. Some of my favs: Alacazar, Man Ray on Fridays, VIP, Latina Cafe, Les Planches (young crowd but very fun if you go out with a group).
