HOUSING

Mathematics, Erasmus
Personal assessment
Cost
KEY:
Couldn't have asked for more.
Pretty good.
Could've been better, but didn't lessen the overall experience.
Disappointing.
Facilities
Location
Cleanliness
Space
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Home university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why? If you go as an exchange student you meet a lot of other students on campus.
Personal comments:
It was ok, I had a lot of nice people around me, but of course it could have been better. Anyway the accommodation is not the most important thing when you go abroad to study.

ACADEMIC
by Ashley, Brandeis University, Waltham, United States
Humanities, Independent
My academic experiences
Quality of courses
KEY:
Fantastic.
Pretty good.
Could've been a bit better.
Disappointing.
Variety of courses
Availability/access to resources
Interaction with teachers
Interaction with other international students
Interaction with local students
Course recommendations:
The course topics were interesting, though I did not gain much from the class itself because the classes are run differently than I am used to. In other words, the students are given too much freedom to talk over the teacher!

My opinion of the university assessment
Exams at end of course
KEY:
Liked it.
It was alright.
A bit annoying.
Didn't like it.
Exams throughout the course
Essays and/or projects at the end of course.
Essays and/or projects throughout the course
Overall
Personal comments:
I am not in a position to say because it the academic life was simply different, not worse, than what I am used to.

Germans can seem to be quite cold at the beginning. But just share a local Bier (I said one !) with them and you'll see how nice they can be.
