Responsibilities

Within the Risk Department of SG Luxembourg, the team of 'project and operational risk' is composed of four operationnal risk managers (Team that the VIE will join) and two project manager.

The operational risk team provides the second line of defense for operational risk management.

As such, the team will:

* Deploy and enforce operational risk management standards across the bank's departments and business lines
* Provide training for business experts on operational risk topics and tools
* Challenge the first lines of defense composed of the business on the management of their operational risks through the different exercises conducted such as RCSA (Risk and Control Self-Assessment), internal control (Permanent Monitoring), tracking incidents and fraud, the implementation and follow-up of action plans to secure our processes.

This LIFE function provides a comprehensive view of the bank's risks and business. The small size of the team allows for collaborative work and adaptability of the team to provide the worker with the training necessary for his professional development.

Key tasks (in collaboration with team experts):

* Locally implement the RISQ/NFR frameworks, with primary responsibility for collecting operational incidents and losses
* Oversee a departmental scope across all operational risk topics and frameworks, relying on the expertise of the relevant framework owners within the team
* Contribute to promoting and embedding the operational risk culture within SG Luxembourg
* Contribute to SG Luxembourg's governance forums by participating in the preparation of materials for the various committees (ICFC, ERC, ORC)
* Ensure regulatory production, including the calculation/production of SG Luxembourg's operational risk RWA, and lead related changes in connection with new regulatory requirements
* Participate in bank-wide or regulatory projects aimed at adapting the existing control frameworks

Studies & experience:

* Graduate with a Master degree from Business/Engineering School or University with a specialization in Finance/ Internal Control/ Audit/ Informatic
* A previous experience in risk monitoring and/or financial analysis would be appreciated

Language skills:

* Operational level in English

Technical, operational & soft skills:

* Good communication and presentation skills
* Proficient/Good command of MS Office
* Strong listening and analytical skills
* Proactivity, spearheading of proposals
* The knowledge of VBA would be a plus

The VIE assignment in a nutshell

This VIE in Luxembourg is to begin as soon as possible, but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 12 months.
