Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description:

As Associate Counsel, you will provide legal support to a diverse range of clients and teams for NBCUniversal's channels and streaming services in Latin America. Your responsibilities will include drafting and negotiating agreements, assessing and mitigating risk, and delivering practical legal advice across all areas of entertainment and media law. You will work closely with creative and business teams to ensure compliance and help drive the success of company projects. In this role, you'll translate complex legal concepts into clear, actionable guidance for non-legal stakeholders, making strong communication and presentation skills essential.
Responsibilities

* Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements (in both Spanish and English), including production services, talent, event production, contest terms and conditions, releases, and licensing agreements.
* Review scripts and provide clearance and risk analysis for creative teams.
* Support human resources with vendor agreements and liaise with the employment law team.
* Deliver timely, practical legal advice and creative solutions to overcome business challenges.
* Collaborate with affiliate marketing, digital growth marketing, trade marketing, public relations, on-air creative, creative solutions, original productions, and human resources teams.
* Monitor and analyze regulatory developments to identify and manage potential business impacts.
* Communicate effectively with internal clients, organize and lead meetings, and ensure efficient management of open matters.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, public relations, creative solutions, original productions, human resources), and subject-matter experts, including external counsel and NBCUniversal corporate legal teams (Compliance, Tax, Privacy, Music, Cyber Security, Intellectual Property, and Litigation).
* Promote collaboration across the global legal function and maintain relationships with counterparts worldwide.
* Train business teams on policies, approval processes, contractual issues, and risk management best practices.
* Assist in developing and maintaining templates and other legal resources.
* Contribute to knowledge sharing within the legal function and support other matters as needed.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
* Law degree (Título de Abogado) from an accredited university, demonstrated academic achievement, and current admission to the Colegio Público de Abogados (or relevant provincial bar) in good standing.
* Minimum 2 years of legal practice experience (law firm or in-house); experience in media or entertainment law is a plus; and experience with contracts or legal consulting is a plus.
* Fluent in English & Spanish (written and spoken).
* Proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
Eligibility Requirements:

* Must be willing to work in Buenos Aires on a hybrid schedule, generally contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week.
* Must be willing to work late evenings, and occasional holidays or weekends per business need.

* Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in Argentina.
* Must be 18 years or older.

* Demonstrated knowledge of the television and streaming industry is a plus.

* Works independently while maintaining a high professional standard.
* Good business judgment; strong business ethics.
* Ability to communicate visually (e.g., presentations, simplifying complex concepts); design skills are a plus.
