Project Leader - Bid Management
Would you like to join the Dreadnought Programme New Business Team who are responsible for major bids and new business activity on the programme? We currently have a vacancy for a Project Leader at our site in Barrow-in-Furness.
As a project Leader, you will be tasked with preparing for future contracting events on the Programme - focusing on bid strategy and proposal development. You will support bid and tendering processes to ensure bids meet customer needs, in line with business & commercial criteria that all risks are assessed effectively, and that bids are realistic and winnable.
This role will provide you with the rare opportunity to gain bid and campaign skills & experience within Maritime - Submarines, with the unique opportunity to help develop and shape future strategy.
Your main responsibilities as a Project Leader will involve:
Providing oversight of the development of reports and bidding activities.
Working closely with internal and external stakeholders
Support with solution development activities
Establishing requirements for the bids
Generation of bid proposals - Working with cross functional teams to develop bid artefacts and proposal documentation
Ensuring the compliance with customer requirements
Application of corporate governance and assurance processes
Your skills and qualifications:
Effective cross-functional stakeholder management skills
Project planning experience
Experience in application of Project Lifecycle Management approaches
Experience in application of risk management
An understanding of bid management - previous experience highly beneficial
Experience of working with MoD customers - highly beneficial

Maritime - Submarines
Our Submarines business has been safely delivering world class submarines to the UK Royal Navy for more than a century.
The Astute class will equip the Royal Navy with its largest and most capable generation of attack submarines. We are responsible for the design, build, test and commissioning of these state-of-the-art vessels. In total, seven boats will make up the fleet, each weighing a mighty 7,400 tonnes.
Dreadnought is the successor to the Vanguard class of nuclear deterrent submarines. We will deliver four submarines to the Royal Navy, with the first submarine entering service in the early 2030s. Dreadnought is widely considered to be one of the world's most complex engineering challenges.
