First Line Risk & Control Analyst

This entry-level role is a foundational position designed for individuals beginning their career in technology risk, compliance, governance, or controls.

The successful candidate will join the First Line Risk and Controls (FLRC) Operations team and play an important part in supporting daily operational activities, which may include/but are not limited to:
* Assisting with technology risk/issue management processes including driving tracking and stakeholder follow-up for issue resolution
* Monitoring key technology controls
* Supporting reporting and metrics
* Maintaining policy and business process documentation
* Helping maintain the effectiveness of FLRC operations broadly, including collaboration with other areas of FLRC as appropriate.

This role is ideal for a candidate who is eager to learn, detail-oriented, and interested in growing into more advanced risk and controls responsibilities over time.

What You Will Do:
* Support Core FLRC Operational Activities
* Conduct routine review of access monitoring controls.
* Assist with the tracking, documentation, and follow-up of issues, action plans, and remediation activities.
* Support preparation of operational metrics, dashboards, and reporting packages for FLRC leadership.
* Support Compliance & Risk Processes with IT impact
* Help maintain documentation related to processes, controls, and compliance activities.
* Assist in identifying potential compliance gaps by performing basic reviews under team guidance.
* Contribute to operational readiness activities for audits, regulatory reviews, or control assessments.
* Collaboration & Team Support
* Participate in team meetings, knowledge-sharing discussions, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
* Support small tasks within projects related to risk, controls, or compliance operations.

What You Will Need:
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in information technology, management information systems, computer science, or equivalent experience/internships.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes.
* Basic understanding of IT concepts (e.g., access, systems, applications, security).
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Curiosity, willingness to learn, and comfort asking questions.
* Ability to work collaboratively and professionally with teammates and partners.
* Solid organizational and time-management skills.

Preferred
* Internship or academic experience related to IT, risk, cybersecurity, compliance, or operations.
* Familiarity with IT governance frameworks (COBIT, ITIL, ISO 27001) - foundational understanding is sufficient.
* Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Word).
* Experience working in a team environment or fast-paced operational setting.
* Interest in pursuing professional certifications such as Security+, CISA, ITIL, or similar (not required).
