Company Description

La Marzocco Srl, a leading manufacturer of premium specialty coffee equipment, is looking for a Purchasing Manager to join our team at our headquarters in Scarperia e San Piero (Florence).

You will play a central role in contributing to cost optimization through the critical and analytical management of materials and suppliers. You will be responsible for defining and implementing procurement strategies.

The objective is to structure and harmonize the procurement of raw materials, collaborating closely with the Technical, Sales, and Logistics departments to improve margins and final product quality

Position

Key responsibilities and activities:

Strategic Management and Scouting
* Identify, qualify, and negotiate with domestic and international suppliers, focusing on advantageous cost-to-quality solutions.
* Constantly monitor market trends, lead times, and price volatility, proposing mitigation plans and technical alternatives.
* Scout for new materials and support the R&D department in the creation of prototypes and pre-series.
* Create alternative procurement plans to ensure business continuity.

Operational Management and Negotiation

* Manage negotiations and framework agreements to improve pricing and margins.
* Manage contracts, orders, and commercial terms.
* Identify cost-reduction opportunities through volume leverage and the development of the international supply chain.

Coordination and Performance

* Coordinate and manage the Purchasing team, organizing activities based on workload and expertise.
* Evaluate supplier reliability through established KPIs, and organize site visits and audits.
* Support Logistics and the Supply Chain for the correct management of materials and operational flows.

Finance and Control

* Manage costs for financial statements and support forecasting activities for various subsidiaries.
* Manage supplies and costs between group companies.

Requirements

* Degree in a technical field, preferably Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines.
* Proven experience in manufacturing companies with in-depth knowledge of technical materials.
* The ability to lead and develop a team.
* Autonomy in managing purchases and assigned spending authority.
* An analytical approach to supplier selection and the evaluation of technical alternatives.
* Skills in coordinating information flows between sites and collaborating with various corporate stakeholders.
