As a Engineer within the Property Services Data Centre team, you'll be required to complete planned and reactive maintenance tasks and will be expected to complete regular scenario testing, to ensure you're trained and able to respond to site technical issues should they occur. You will be expected to accept on-call duties, alongside High Voltage authorised person duties, which we provide training for. Our Data Centre maintenance team work alongside other (COMPANY NAME) colleagues and suppliers, including IT stakeholders, within the Data Centre.
This role is primarily based within our Data Centre in Swindon, with travel expenses paid for any work-related travel outside of Swindon.

What you'll be doing

A typical day within this job role would involve proactive maintenance duties, and reactive maintenance tasks. You'll work closely with your fellow maintenance team members and specialist maintenance supply partners, and will help with basic maintenance administration (working with and contributing to health and safety documentation, site escorting of visitors, etc).
Within the first 6 months of your employment, you will be supported to become technically familiarised with our Swindon Data Centre. Once this understanding has been assessed and validated, on-call duties will be incorporated into the job role.

About you

* A minimum of level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering maintenance and /or installation discipline (or equivalent).
* Relevant Building Services Engineering experience e.g. apprentice qualified and a solid background of practical experience as a qualified engineer.
* Demonstrable knowledge of Microsoft Operating systems and Building Management Systems
* Experience in the maintenance of 'environmental' equipment, including HVAC, UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply), generators, fire alarm systems, etc.
* Experience in Critical Engineering activity and working well within a team. Ability to Provide advice as a Technical specialist.
