You will work with the world's largest computing infrastructure. Your work involves some periods' independence from your team. You will learn the daily operations of a large data center. You will be working and troubleshooting hands on with servers and network equipment.
You will interact with other teams like logistics, networking, security, and etc in order to get the job done. There is never a dull moment as each day presents itself with different challenges. Work with multiple teams (DC operations, DC Engineering, Logistics, Security and Projects etc.)
Data Center Operations designs, installs and maintains the world's largest Computing Infrastructure. Our scope of work includes systems, repairing, dealing with issues, handling and tracking parts and assisting in Data Center maintenance. Amazon Data Centers are large-scale high-density centers where you will help change the face of Technology in the region.
We are looking for candidates to commit to a 6-month contract and we are committed to provide coaching and periodic assessments to help develop your skills.

Some of the key responsibilities you will undertake are:
- You will be trained in supporting data center infrastructure equipment including racks, servers, hardware components, networking devices and cables, following specific instructions and well-defined Standard Operating Porcedures (SOP).
- You will learn to perform routine operations such as rack installations, server break/fix, hardware component replacements, diagnosing hardware faults, troubleshooting network links and rack decommissioning with guidance and support.
- You will be trained in using Directed Workflow Instructions for hardware replacements and documenting all work in ticket tracking systems.
You will learn to identify issue severity and work within stated Service Level Agreements (SLA), escalating when work deviates from established processes.
- You will be trained in inventory management tasks including receiving equipment, decommissioning hardware, liquidating racks or hardware components, and performing storage media (HDD, SSD) sanitization and destruction.
- You will learn how to operate in a high security environment, follow information security policies and physical safety practices, ensuring safe, secure work at all times.
- You will be trained in using technical documentation to find solutions and performing routine tasks following clear instructions.
- You will learn to work as part of a team performing similar tasks, collaborating with various AWS stakeholders
Requerimientos del candidato/a:
- We're looking for the right person to train and develop - formal qualifications are helpful but not required. What matters most is your attitude, your willingness to learn, and your aptitude for technical work.
- - Some exposure to IT hardware, networking, or technical support in any setting - including studies, personal projects, or hobbyist experience.
- - Enthusiasm for technology and a desire to build a career in data center operations or IT infrastructure.
- - Willingness to work in a hands-on technical environment using appropriate tools and equipment, including network testing equipment and electric lifting aids. - Candidates should be able to perform the physical requirements of this role, which may include handling equipment. Lifting aids and assistive equipment are available at all times to support safe handling practices, with team support readily available for heavier items. - - Ability to travel between data center sites as needed to support operational requirements and your professional growth. Working across multiple sites will provide you with hands-on experience with diverse equipment configurations and operational environments. (Valid driver's license is required)
- - Good attention to detail and the ability to follow documented processes and procedures accurately.
- - Strong communication skills - able to ask questions, listen carefully, and work well as part of a team.
- - A responsible and professional attitude with a commitment to safety, quality, and reliability in delivering a consistent and high-quality customer experience.
- Helpful but not required - full training will be provided in hardware and network troubleshooting, Data Center concepts. Any of the following are a bonus, not a barrier to applying.
- - Any relevant technical qualification such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent - or currently working towards one.
- - Previous experience in a customer-facing, operational, or physical technical role.
- - We value diverse career paths including self-taught learning, online courses, bootcamps, apprenticeships, military experience, or transferable skills from other industries.
- - Successful candidates will work with mentor(s) from day one, providing ongoing guidance and support throughout the programme. Candidates development will follow a structured skills framework, with clear milestones and regular check-ins to track your progress. Upon successful completion of the 6-month training programme, high-performing trainees will be considered for a permanent full-time Data Center Operations Technician role within the team. This is more than a short-term placement - it is the start of a technical career.
