Descripción del puesto:

Fuse Energy is a forward-thinking renewable energy startup on a mission to deliver a terawatt of renewable energy, fast. We're combining first-principles thinking with cutting-edge technology to build a radically better energy system. We've raised more than $210M from top-tier investors including Multicoin, Balderton, Lakestar, Accel, Creandum, Lowercarbon, Ribbit, Box Group and strategic angels like Nico Rosberg, the co-founder of Solana and GPs behind Meta, Revolut, Spotify and Uber. We're building a fully integrated energy company: from developing solar, wind and battery projects to real-time power trading and distributed energy installations. By selling directly to consumers, we cut out the middleman, lower costs and pass savings on to customers.
This is, without exaggeration, the role with the largest and most direct impact on Fuse's P&L of anyone at your level in the company. Every pound of cost you catch, question, or renegotiate flows straight to the bottom line: there is no layer between your work and the number the business reports. As a Cost Management Analyst, your decisions on what to challenge, what to flag, and what to push back on will directly move Fuse's margin, not as an abstract training exercise but as real money in or out of the company each month.
Cost is a first-order lever at Fuse. Every pound we don't need to spend is a pound we can pass back to customers or reinvest in growth, and we treat finding and closing that gap as a core discipline, not a side task bolted onto month-end. You'll sit inside that discipline from day one, working alongside the team that owns cost control across the business, from supplier invoices to settlement charges to contract terms. This is not a back-office role: you'll be expected to find real savings, defend your numbers, and change how the business spends money.
Responsibilities:
* Owning cost lines with a direct, visible line to the P&L: what you catch or miss shows up in reported margin, not just an internal metric.
* Reconciling invoices against contracts and purchase terms across suppliers, catching discrepancies before they become write-offs.
* Building and maintaining trackers that give real-time visibility into cost drivers, so issues surface in days, not at quarter close.
* Validating settlement and regulatory charges (energy market invoices, third-party fees) against internal accruals and flagging variances.
* Digging into specific cost lines, contracts, or vendor relationships to find savings opportunities, then building the analysis to make the case.
* Supporting negotiations with suppliers and partners by preparing the cost and usage data behind the ask.
* Automating the manual, repetitive parts of cost tracking and reconciliation so the team's time goes toward judgment calls, not data entry.

* Competitive internship salary
* Fully expensed tech to match your needs
* Breakfast and dinner allowance for office based employees
* Opportunities for fast progression
* A front-row seat at a fast-growing, well-funded energy company solving a problem that matters, with real ownership and high autonomy from day one alongside an exceptional, first-principles team

Requerimientos del candidato/a:

* Final-year student, or recent graduate, in engineering, maths, or another STEM discipline.
* Very strong first-principles thinking: you want to understand why a cost exists before you try to reduce it.
* Comfortable in a fast, ambiguous, high-intensity environment.
* Analytical, structured and proactive: someone who chases down discrepancies rather than waiting for them to be explained.
* Strong Excel and financial modelling skills.
* A genuine interest in cost control, procurement, or operational finance.

Bonus

* A prior internship in banking, consulting, accounting, procurement, or a startup finance team.
* Exposure to contract or invoice reconciliation, vendor management, or process automation.
* Coding skills (Python, SQL, or similar) for building cost-tracking tools
