Global cryptocurrency exchange founded in 2013; formerly known as Huobi. HTX is a global cryptocurrency exchange, rebranded from Huobi in September 2023. Founded by Leon Li in 2013, it originally launched in China and later expanded internationally, with presences in Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, and the U.S. The exchange facilitates digital asset trading on a large scale and became publicly listed in Hong Kong after a reverse takeover in 2018. In 2022, Justin Sun acquired HTX, and under his guidance it continues to offer a broad ecosystem of crypto services. HTX has faced regulatory scrutiny; notably, in October 2025, the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) filed a lawsuit against it for unauthorized financial promotions in the UK.
