Internship in Communications Mercedes-Benz Vans - focus on event management from September 2024

As part of the Mercedes-Benz Group AG communications division, the Mercedes-Benz Vans communications department is responsible for all VAN plants, products and future technologies as well as for all economic, brand and sustainability topics relating to the business unit. We are the organizers of media events, central contact persons for journalists and inform our employees.
By successfully applying for this position, you will strengthen the Event Management team, which is responsible for global external communication and event planning for all market-ready Mercedes-Benz Vans vehicles: the Marco Polo camper van, the V-Class and EQV MPVs, the T-Class and EQT small vans, as well as the (e)Sprinter, (e)Vito and (e)Citan. From your first week as an intern, you will be fully involved in our work. You will also take on your own projects.
These are your primary tasks:
* Supporting the preparation, implementation and follow-up of international digital, physical and hybrid press events
* Collaboration with agencies, internal departments and external service providers
* Participation in the implementation of events for product launches as part of international press events, workshops, world premieres, etc.
* Maintaining event-specific lists and documents
* On-site support at events if necessary
* Independent supervision and coordination of sub-projects
* Support with invoice coordination and checking as a follow-up to an event
This could also be part of your job:
* Collaboration in the creation of press material and use of various external communication channels (focus: press communication and social media)
* Editorial preparation and writing of texts for internal channels, especially the "Social Intranet"
* Support with editorial planning, maintaining the international press distribution list and sending out press releases
* Support in planning and procuring press vehicles and with journalist inquiries about press vehicles
* Support in coordinating the global communication strategy of Mercedes-Benz Vans with the international PR managers in the markets
* Follow-up and evaluation of press coverage
There is the opportunity to get a taste of the tasks of the neighboring teams and, for example, to gain experience in product communication or the use of internal channels.

Qualifikationen

* Degree program in the field of communication/economics, PR, journalism, business administration/economics, humanities/social sciences or a comparable degree program
* Practical experience if possible
* Proficient in written and spoken German and English - other languages an advantage
* Confident handling of MS Office and digital media
* Commitment, ability to work in a team, analytical mindset, strategic way of working
* Very good communication and organizational skills
* High degree of independence and initiative
* Valid class B driving license (car)
