Job Description
The Summer 2026 Direct Auto Customer & Sales Experience Intern is a hands-on, immersive experience designed for rising seniors interested in building a career in sales, marketing, customer experience, or business operations.
Over the course of a 4-5 week full-time internship, interns will gain real-world experience working inside Direct Auto retail locations, supporting both in-store customer sales and local community marketing efforts. Following the internship, high-performing individuals may have the opportunity to continue in a part-time student role, where they can deepen their experience, pursue licensing, and continue to grow in an earn-and-learn environment.
This role offers a unique opportunity to build a blended skillset across relationship-based selling and grassroots marketing execution. Interns won't just observe-they'll actively contribute to store success by engaging customers, supporting sales activities, and helping build awareness in the surrounding community.

What You'll Learn & Experience
Retail Sales & Customer Engagement
You'll learn how sales professionals connect with customers in a face-to-face environment, uncover needs, and deliver tailored solutions.
* Engage with walk-in customers alongside licensed sales agents
* Learn how to identify customer needs and recommend insurance products
* Support quoting, cross-selling, and customer follow-up activities
* Assist in delivering excellent in-store customer experiences
* Build foundational skills in consultative selling and relationship building
Marketing & Community Engagement
* Support local marketing initiatives such as community outreach and event participation
* Assist with in-person visits to nearby businesses and community partners
* Help execute marketing campaigns to drive foot traffic into the retail location
* Identify opportunities to strengthen community presence and partnerships
What This Prepares You For
Retail and field sales roles, marketing and brand activation roles, and business operations roles where understanding the customer is critical.

* Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is helpful but not required.
Education Requirements
* Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree
* Expected graduation between December 2026 and May 2027 (rising senior)
Work Schedule & Hours
* Must be able to work onsite at one of our Direct Auto locations in the following areas: Atlanta, GA; Charlotte, NC; Greensboro, NC; Norfolk, VA; Jackson, MS; New Orleans, LA; Baton Rouge, LA
* Direct Auto retail locations operate Monday through Saturday, typically between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM
* Interns are expected to work up to 40 hours per week within store hours
* Schedules may include occasional Saturday rotations based on business needs
* Final schedules will be provided at time of offer
Program Highlights

Compensation offered for this role is $18/hr.
