Project Intern, AI for Investment (Shanghai) (Sep - Dec 2026)

Introduction

The Temasek China Investment Team is looking for a project intern - AI for Investment to join our Shanghai office. You will work directly with investment professionals to build AI-powered tools and workflows that enhance research, information processing, and investment decision-making across both public and private markets.

Responsibilities

* Build AI agents, automated pipelines, and RAG systems that accelerate macro research, market monitoring, and event-driven analysis
* Develop AI-powered tools to support deal screening, due diligence, comparable analysis, and portfolio company monitoring
* Develop and maintain internal dashboards, data tools, and analytical workflows for the investment team
* Structure and automate the ingestion of multi-source data (financial, regulatory, alternative) into retrievable formats for AI-powered workflows
* Automate research report and investment memo generation using LLM APIs

Requirements

* Degree in Computer Science, AI, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
* Open to undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD candidates, with postgraduate or PhD preferred
* Hands-on experience building AI applications (LLMs, RAG, agentic systems) - through projects, internships, open-source, or similar
* Fluent in Mandarin and English

Note:
* At least 4 days a week in person. Extensions may be considered based on business needs.

Ideal Candidate

* Familiarity with vector search, data pipelines, and LLM tooling (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar)
* Experience with prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks, or LLM observability
* Experience with database management, indexing, and information retrieval systems
* Finance / Economics background or genuine interest in investing
