Overall
I'm not good at learning new languages. I feel that it takes me 2-3 times longer than other students. However at this school it felt pretty easy for me - maybe because the classes have been small with in average 3-4 students which helped to practice a lot and ask questions.

I spoke just a few words Spanish when I came to Quito. When I left I was able to hold simple conversations. I took 8 weeks standard group lessons (4 lessons each morning). The teachers were very dedicated to the students. Thereafter I participated in a volunteering project outside of Quito which Ailola organized, too. During the project I mostly spoke Spanish because the employees didn't speak any other language.

In Quito I lived in a host family. It was convenient because they prepared meals (breakfast + dinner) each day and made the laundry every week. It took just 10 minutes by feet to the school. The family was very nice. They gave me a lot of tips.

If I am ever going back to Quito, I will absolutely take some refresher classes at Ailola Quito. The teachers are the best!

I was very happy with my choice for  a Spanish school abroad. I had heard that Ecuadorian Spanish is spoken without an accent and slowlier than in other places. This is why I decided to go and spend 3 months in Quito. And now I am almost fluent. The administration and the teachers do an amazing job to make sure you learn what you need to learn and have fun at the same time. You can choose from several free activities and make a lot of friends while improving your spanish. The host family was caring and made me feel at home. I highly recommend this school.
