IPS is the purchasing organization for non-production materials and services of Mercedes-Benz AG. We see ourselves as a company within the company and report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Mercedes-Benz AG. With measurable value contribution and smart and efficient purchasing processes. We focus on progress through digitalization. We maximize savings potential through our expert knowledge in over 600 commodities (purchasing areas) and take advantage of our global network. We integrate new suppliers into the network, create competition and actively seek out innovations. We realize synergies and economies of scale.
As a partner to the specialist departments, we purchase the best overall package of quality, price, innovation and time worldwide. We work with several thousand suppliers around the world. At IPS, we manage global supplier relationships for an annual purchasing volume of over 20 billion euros. We are responsible for the global procurement of services and materials in 116 countries. We have more than 660 dedicated and highly motivated employees at 45 international locations.
In our Purchasing for Research and Development Services department, we procure all services for research and development. Here you can experience both aspects - cost optimization and innovation - at first hand. You will gain an insight into the development of our efficient drives - from high-tech combustion engines (diesel and petrol engines) and hybrid vehicles to purely electric drives with batteries or fuel cells. You will encounter current and exciting topics such as digitalization, e-mobility and autonomous driving.
In addition to working on important purchasing projects, you will be given an independent project for which you are responsible. This can be, for example, the creation and testing of negotiation designs (e.g. OBE - Online Bidding Event) or independent project work.
Our aim is for you to learn a lot for your future, such as designing and handling important purchasing projects, the joy of negotiating, working in an international environment, dealing with challenges and much more.
You will have the opportunity to provide support and take on responsibility in the following exciting tasks:
* Joint planning and implementation of the procurement process in coordination with the specialist departments
* Creation of complex negotiation designs and strategies as well as insight and execution of purchasing negotiations
* Advancing regional and global procurement projects through collaboration with the development departments
* Insight into global material group-specific target planning and target achievement
* Developing supplier strategies and optimizing supplier structures
* Preparation of purchasing agreements and orders as well as the drafting of purchasing contracts

Qualifikationen

* Degree program in the field of economics or engineering studies
* Basic technical knowledge of automotive engineering
* Good communication skills and a confident manner
* Ability to work independently and on your own responsibility
* Enjoy project work and enjoy learning new things
* Affinity with numbers and their interpretation
* Flexibility and strong social skills
* Written and spoken German (C1/C2)
* Confident handling of MS Office
* Commitment and ability to work in a team
* Analytical mindset and strategic way of working
