Mandatory internship in the area of strategic purchasing engine management from September 2024

Job Description:

The Procurement and Supplier Quality Directorate Mercedes-Benz Cars and Vans (MP) is responsible for global purchasing and quality activities for Mercedes-Benz and smart cars and vans. MP stands for the strategic design and operational implementation of global procurement activities and material group strategies with the aim of optimizing the entire value chain and tapping cost-cutting potential.
As the Engine Management Purchasing team, we are responsible, among other things, for the global purchasing of the scopes of gasoline injection, engine sensors, engine and transmission control units, starters, alternators, stop-start systems, SCR system, ignition and glow and are integrated into the Powertrain division.
Your tasks include:
* Participation and collaboration in the entire procurement process from the global inquiry to offer analyses and price negotiations through to contract conclusion
* Participation in the development of potential, including through cost workshops and negotiations with international suppliers
* Preparing supplier evaluations and awarding contracts to suppliers
* Helping to shape sourcing strategies and benchmark activities
* Participation in and implementation of current projects, in particular coordination with affected areas in development, cost planning, production, quality and logistics

Qualifikationen

* Business administration, technical or a comparable course of study
* Confident written and spoken German and English skills
* Confident handling of MS Office
* Commitment and ability to work in a team
* Analytical mindset and strategic way of working
* Communication and teamwork skills
* Motivation and commitment
