The Turbomachinery Mechanical Design Engineer (intern) will be supporting Mechanical Design assessments in CF34 and P20 programs. It will perform duties in a multi-functional team environment including Fleet, Repair, Systems, Manufacturing and Repair shops, while is being guided by experienced Engineers.

Roles and Responsibilities
* Support Mechanical Design Assessments in turbomachinery hardware with focus on Combustors and Turbines by following experienced engineers' directions and latest GE Aerospace Standards to meet the technical and program requirements.
* Interpret previous technical studies, assessments, drawings, Engine Manuals and current conditions to provide solutions requested by Fleet and Repair.
* Collaborate with experienced Mechanical Design Engineers in Field Investigations through small, guided tasks.
* Perform stack up, hand calculation, life assessments and finite element analysis as required.
* Manipulate 3D models and Finite Element Analysis to complement mechanical design assessments.
Required Qualifications
* Student enrolled in Mechanical Engineering or Aeronautical Engineering with at least 1.5 years to graduate.
* Strong mechanical design foundations (Mechanical Design, Mechanics of Materials)
* Experience in mechanical design through academic projects
* English skills: Must be able to maintain a simple conversation in English
* Availability of partial-time work (30 hours per week)
