This Position reports to:R&D Team Lead

Your role and responsibilities:
In this role, you'll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.

You will have the opportunity to gain vocational experience through a temporary work placement (6 months). Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting ABB's operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities.

The work model for the role is: #LI-Hybrid (maximum 20% remote)

This internship focuses on supporting the low and medium voltage switching research team in experimental and simulation tasks. The internship tasks will include:
* Construction of experimental setups
* Participating in designing and in simulating novel concepts for low and medium voltage switchgear
* Executing experimental tasks within the ABB research team
* Evaluating experimental results and performing data analysis

Qualifications for the role:
* You currently pursue an advanced Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Physics or related subject
* You have practical experience in experimental work in a lab
* You possess programming skills in Python and you are proficient in CAD software (or willingness to learn it)
* You are comfortable communicating in English
* Non-EU/non-EFTA citizens, please note that a certificate from your university, showing that an internship is a mandatory part of your studies, is required for the visa application
