Our (COMPANY NAME) Excellence System (FES) Department is looking for a FES Intern (Year-Round, Full-Time) for its (COMPANY NAME) Interiors Saline Plant in Saline - Michigan.
As a member of the FES team, the PC&L Intern's main responsibilities include:
* Assist in providing FES expertise (HSE, Quality, EE, PC&L and Production system) based on lean manufacturing principles to contribute to achieve operational business targets
* Follow up with plant on the FES deployment plan, to support the Plant Improvement Plan (PIP) execution.
* Provide FES knowledge and skills to the plant team through training, coaching and education.
* Contribute to the Plant MOD cost budget construction & achievement, through efficient "MOD cost management" & "MOD cost improvement plan".
* Ensure efficient data management methodology is correctly applied for direct standard and actual Labour cost accuracy.
* Ensure DLE/DLP tracking process linked with the DL cost % results
* Support the implementation of FES improvement tools for production reliability, change over Standards (flexibility), reduction of Line stoppages , Line balancing, and overall MOD efficiency
* Ensure identification of MOD "Productivity Potential.
* Contribute to the lead time reduction though the implementation of continuous flow, layout optimization, pull-system and speed up flows works.
* Support FES network Animation in the plant
* Contribute to deployment of FES culture at Supervisors & GAP Leader level
* Propose and promote best practices within the Plant (FES Network)
* Participate in workshops to test the new lean concepts
The ideal candidate will have/be:
* Completing a bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
* Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
* Able to learn on the fly and handle a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
* A positive attitude and optimistic mindset
* Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
