Primary Function of Position
The Strategic Sourcing Intern will support a Global Supply Chain commodity team and partner with the Supply Operations team to drive continuous improvement. Strategic Sourcing's main goal is to ensure that Intuitive has the right supply base to support our long term growth.
Essential Job Duties
* Supply Chain Risk Management - evaluate all materials in commodity portfolio, reclassify risk based on current industry environment, ensure transfer time and lead time accuracy
* Cost Savings Analysis - lead cost savings analysis on current projects as well as candidate projects (update forecast, unit pricing, align with cross functional teams on probability of project success)
* Capacity Management - review demand and supply capacity to ensure we have adequate capacity to support future growth
* Contract Management - review contracts by commodity and summarize rebate terms. Analysis supplier spend to suggest cost savings opportunities for future negotiations (stale pricing, accurate volume tiers)
