Design and release engineer Cockpit

Job Description:

To plan and develop new and/or current vehicle component projects and the appropriate maintenance and life cycle upgrades of current production programs, with the focus in the design and integration of cockpit interior applications. Meeting the performance, quality, timing and cost targets assigned.

* BS in engineering (mechanical, aeronautical, automotive, electro-mechanics).

* Minimum 3 years in in the automotive industry in similar position as design and release engineer and/ or product development lead engineer.

* Soft skills: Self-directed, ownership, sense of urgency, achiever, absolute attention to the details.

* Well-developed leadership & project management skills.

* Proficient in communicating in technical English language, comfortable with reporting out to the management.

* Knowledgeable in the design, development and engineering processes of automotive components such as brackets, troughs and grommets.

* Knowledgeable in manufacturing processes to manufacture such components: injection molded, blown or extruded plastics, sheet metal stamped parts and its involved secondary operations.

* Knowledgeable in:1) engineering materials & fasteners selection. 2) global automotive product development process. 3) product design process (phases) in CAD systems (NX or Catia). 3) setting & understanding dimensional strategies (GD&T, datum and location schemes). 4) regulatory requirements (FMVSS, CMVSS, ECE R21, etc.). 5) Setting and interpreting virtual analysis studies (CAE, mold flow).

* Availability to travel and support launch activities at the (COMPANY NAME) assembly plants and supplier facilities.
